WEEKLY REWIND…
Softball – Split with McKendree on Tuesday in midweek GLVC action before dropping two games at Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday. UIS bounced back with a split against Lewis University on Sunday with a 13-3 game two win. Amanda Gosbeth went 4-for-4 with two homeruns in the final game of the series.
Baseball – After taking a week off of play, UIS swept a four-game series with Lewis University, outscoring the Flyers 42-27. Adam Gregory threw a complete game in game three to pick up his GLVC leading 6
th win while Austin Muench connected for two home runs on the weekend.
Women's Tennis – Split their GLVC road trip, falling to Lewis on Friday before dominating Saint Joseph's on Saturday 9-0. The Prairie Stars are now 8-8 on the season and 3-2 in GLVC play. Maegan Flight went 2-0 in singles play.
Men's Tennis – The Prairie Stars picked up their first GLVC win with an 8-1 win over Saint Joseph's on Saturday. Logan Burgess-Hayes went 2-0 in singles play over the weekend.
Women's Track and Field – Lexi Yoggerst and Krissy Finley each posted victories at the Millikin Big Blue Invitational last weekend. Yoggerst won the 800m with a personal best time of 2:19.17 while Finley took first in the 1500m run with a school record time of 4:59.75. UIS took fifth of eight schools in the event.
Men's Track and Field – Kay Days led the way for the track and field team, earning a victory in the high jump as well as qualifying for the NCAA National Championship Provisional Standard with a jump of 2.03 m. George Wayda finished second in the javelin and fourth in the high jump. UIS placed sixth of nine teams.
