ST. CHARLES, MO --- The Prairie Stars (7-4) fell in a non-conference affair at Lindenwood University by a score of 8-7. Illinois Springfield fell behind 3-0 before scoring four in the top of the fourth but couldn't hold off the Lions who responded with four runs in the bottom half and never gave up the lead.
Sam Geraci (0-1) took the loss for UIS on the mound.
Jon Laird started the game for the Prairie Stars and gave up three earned in 2.1 innings, striking out three. However, Laird struggled with command early, walking three and hitting one in his seven outs of work. Geraci relieved Laird and threw one inning, giving up four earned.

Chase Lowman,
Austin Lukaschewski, and Austin Kapusinski closed out the final 4.2 innings, giving up just two hits and one earned run.
In the fourth, UIS got on the board with a two-RBI triple from
Drew Harper, scoring
James Battley and
Ben Schanding.
Chris Mathieu followed that with a triple of his own before
Cole Taylor ended the scoring with an RBI single.
UIS plated two in the fifth as well on a single from
Myles Hann and sacrifice fly from Battley.
Taylor ended a 3-for-5 night with an RBI single in the eighth to give UIS their final run.
Austin Muench continued his hot hitting with a 2-for-5 night, scoring a run while Hann collected three hits and drove in one.
UIS will travel to Rolla, Missouri to take on Missouri S&T this weekend in a four-game series, playing one game Friday at 2:00 before a double header Saturday and single game Sunday.
