SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The Prairie Stars (4-6) were upended by Missouri-St. Louis (4-1) in a cross-divisional GLVC match at Washington Park. Cole Buehnerkemper and Logan Burgess-Hayes won their doubles match but UIS came up short on singles, falling 6-3 in the match.

Buehnerkemper and Burgess-Hayes won a hard-fought doubles match 8-5 in the top spot. David Perez and Sam Clarke fell 8-3 in the second spot while Christian Timm and Grant Fitzsimmons dropped a heartbreaker, 9-7 in the final game.

In singles, Clarke and Perez each lost in three sets in the first and fourth spot, respectively. Buehnerkemper and Burgess-Hayes continued their winning ways, each winning in straight sets. Buehnerkemper 6-4, 7-6 and Burgess-Hayes 6-4, 6-2.

Clarke fell 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 and Perez 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Timm and Fitzsimmons each fell in straight sets.

UIS dropped to 4-6 with the loss while UMSL improved to 4-1. The Prairie Stars will take the court again to begin GLVC play next Saturday, March 25^th when they host Southern Indiana. The match will begin at 11 AM at Washington Park.
