ROMEOVILLE, IL --- The Illinois Springfield men's cross country team faced seven NCAA Division II nationally ranked teams, as well as a total of 20 regionally ranked teams at the Lewis University Conference Crossover Meet, held Saturday at Lewis University.

The men placed 27th out of 31 scoring teams and were led by
Eli Cook who finished 126th out of 349 Finishers. Â His time for the 8000m course was 26:55.
The remainder of the team top-five scorers were: Â
Brendan Kroeger (159th/27:11),
Tyler Pasley (185th/27:24),
Garrad Straube (202nd/27:30), and
Kenton Wilson (223rd/27:54).

The men's team totaled 757 points.  The team title went to #2 ranked Grand Valley with 51 points, runner-up was 4th rated Cal Baptist with 121, rounding out the top-six --- all of which are top-15 nationally ranked schools were:  Southern Indiana 150, Lindenwood 191, Walsh 205, and Alaska Anchorage 223.

Mike De Witt commented: Â "Our team had a good taste of what the best in programs in Division II look like. Â We did a good competing with the group of schools in our ability range, including GLVC Schools. Overall, we ran consistent to what we have been racing at, which at this point in the season is an important factor. Â I feel the team is ready to make a nice improvement overall as we ready for the GLVC Meet in two weeks."
