Eagles Prove No Match for Prairie Stars on Senior Night

SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The Prairie Stars (16-8, 7-4) extended their winning streak to five matches with an emphatic 3-0 sweep over Robert Morris-Springfield on Senior Night. The Prairie Stars outscored the Eagles 75-20 on the night, winning the three sets 25-9, 25-3, 25-8. UIS recognized four seniors prior to the match: Ally Vicsik, Tiffany Sunderlin, Lexi Hall, and Courtney Schutt.

Sunderlin had a career-night for the Prairie Stars, leading the way with 14 kills and zero errors on just 21 total attacks, good for a .667 hitting percentage --- the second highest mark in UIS history for a single-match. Her 14 kills are the second most in a single-match in her time at UIS.

Hall, the career leader in assists, totaled 24 in the match and also recorded two aces, giving her 74 in her career, also a UIS best.

Schutt had 10 digs on the night and served up five aces, tying her for second most all-time in a single-match. That number also jumped her into a tie for sixth all-time. Vicsik had 14 digs on the night and also served up two aces, but the highlight of the night came when she recorded a kill on her lone attack of the night.

As a team, the Prairie Stars demolished the single-game record for attack percentage, hitting at a .623 mark for the match, besting the previous record of .506. UIS committed only three errors on 61 total attacks.

The Prairie Stars will return to the court tomorrow as they travel to St. Louis, Missouri to take on Maryville University in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. UIS looks to extend their winning streak to six-matches, which would be a record in the Division II era.

UIS has seven matches left in the regular season, six of which will be on the road. The lone home match will be against the Saints on Tuesday, November 7th at 7 PM.
