Men's Cross Country
UIS put together a 1-2 finish during last Saturday's Illinois College Invitational. Alex Phelps charged to an 8K time of 28 minutes, 57.9 seconds to win the meet while Preston Henze came in second place, clocking a time of 29:11.3.
 
Women's Cross Country
Hannah Roberts placed ninth in last Saturday's Illinois College Invitational after racing to a 6K time of 29:16.2.
 
Men's Soccer
UIS won both of its conference matches last week. The Prairie Stars fought to a 2-1 double-overtime victory over the University of Wisconsin-Parkside last Friday as Naba Alzhyri notched two goals and Alex Zarco dished out an assist. Alzhyri is one of three players in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) with four game-winning goals on the season. He is also tied for first among UIS Division II leaders in career game-winning goals (4).
 
The Prairie Stars completed the sweep last Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Lewis University, which entered the match in second in the GLVC standings. Rhys Wallace drilled a penalty kick for the Prairie Stars. Tommy Geile recorded a shutout and leads the conference with an .836 save percentage.
 
Women's Soccer
UIS put together a 1-0-1 conference record last week. The Prairie Stars fought to a 1-1 double-overtime draw with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside last Friday. Emily Matsen found the back of the net in the 83rd minute and know is tied for fifth in career points (18) among UIS Division II leaders.
 
UIS captured its first win over Lewis University in program history with a 1-0 win last Sunday. Meghan Delaney sailed a shot into the net during the 29th minute and Maggie Juhlin provided the assist. The Prairie Stars surpassed the program's record for wins and conference wins in a season.
 
Volleyball
The Prairie Stars compiled a 2-1 record in last week's Midwest Regional Crossover. UIS fell to Grand Valley State University in a 25-18, 21-25, 26-24, 16-25, 15-12 loss on Friday. Four players recorded double-digit kills. Taylor Bauer smashed 18 kills, Jailyn Borum contributed 16 kills, Alyssa Hasler produced 15 kills and Alli Splitt added 14 kills. Borum scattered 22 digs, Tiffany Wentworth collected 14 digs and Courtney Schutt tallied 10 digs. Wentworth also dished out a UIS Division II single-match record 59 assists.
 
The Prairie Stars topped Lake Erie College in a 22-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-23 victory on Friday. UIS picked up its 12th win, setting a new UIS Division II program record for wins in a season. Bauer powered to 18 kills while Hasler and Borum contributed 12 kills apiece. Hasler smashed nine total blocks and Wentworth provided 45 assists. Borum collected 26 digs, Schutt recorded 24 digs, Wentworth and Kenzie Hendon scattered 14 digs apiece and Ally Vicsik added 10 digs.
 
UIS swept Davenport University in a 25-17, 25-17, 25-13 victory on Saturday. Borum put together 12 kills and 12 digs. Hasler produced five blocks. Hendon and Schutt scattered 14 digs apiece while Schutt added 12 digs.
 
In three matches, Hasler totaled 35 kills with just four attack errors. Wentworth dished out 143 assists, Bauer smacked 45 kills and Borum compiled 40 kills and 60 digs.
 
Women's Tennis
UIS moved to 3-0 with an 8-1 victory over Truman State University last Saturday. Jane Carter, Kena Bere, Ana Boza Martin and Maegan Flight tallied wins in singles and doubles. Hannah Blythe earned a singles win while Kaitlyn Thornhill and Hana Iverson secured wins in their doubles matches.
 
Men's Tennis
Emporia State University handed the Prairie Stars a 7-2 loss last Friday. Tommy Martinez and Oscar Toro each won their singles matches.
 
The Prairie Stars swept Truman State University in a 9-0 win last Saturday. Martinez, Toro, Logan Burgess Hayes, Sam Clarke, Pete Molloy and Oscar Toro each picked up wins in both singles and doubles.
 
Women's Golf
UIS opened the week by finishing third in the two-day 14-team Findlay-Beall Fall Classic, which concluded last Monday. Maria Espinosa finished T-7 with a two-day score of 149, carding rounds of 75 and 74 and the par-72 layout at Findlay Country Club.
 
The Prairie Stars captured the Maryville Fall Invitational crown, during the two-day tournament which wrapped up last Sunday. Brooke Hill put together a tournament score of 152 to take third, recording rounds of 75 and 77 on the par-72 layout at Annbriar Golf Course. Espinosa (75-79 – 154) claimed sixth in the individual standings.
 
Men's Golf
UIS tied for 16th in the two-day Midwest Regional, which concluded last Tuesday. Jaime Kreisler put together a T-10 finish with a two-day score of 148, carding rounds of 73 and 75 on the par-72 layout at Fox Run Golf Club.
