SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The Prairie Stars (11-7, 5-4) will travel to Aurora, Illinois this weekend to take part in the nation's largest collegiate volleyball tournament at the Midwest Region Crossover. This tournament includes 36 NCAA Division II programs from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).
The two-day tournament will feature 54 matches across two days, conducted across 11 courts.
SETTING THE SCENE FOR UIS
Illinois Springfield enters the tournament having won three of their last four matches, with their only loss coming to (RV) McKendree University. The Prairie Stars matched the program record for wins in a season in the Division II era with a 3-1 win over Missouri-St. Louis and set a program record for GLVC wins with five.

PRAIRIE STAR NOTES
UIS is 11-10 all-time at the Midwest Crossover, taking back to 2010. However, this is the first time UIS has garnered a top-eight seed from the GLVC, putting them in the top half of the bracket.
Alyssa Hasler ranks sixth in the GLVC in attack percentage (.334) and leads the league in blocks per set (1.41) and total blocks (90).
Tiffany Wentworth has now jumped into the top-ten in the league in assists per set (6.31) and has 404 total assists.

Lake Erie College (3-0) – The Prairie Stars have never fell to Lake Erie, taking nine of ten possible sets. UIS first met Lake Erie in 2010, beating them 3-1 and then swept in both 2013 and 2014.

LOOKING AHEAD
Upon the conclusion of the Midwest Crossover, UIS will return home for three consecutive matches, two of which are conference matches. The Prairie Stars will take on Drury University on Friday, October 20
th before taking on Missouri S&T on Saturday the 21
st.
UIS will conclude the three-game home stand on Friday, October 27
th, which will serve as senior day for the Prairie Stars.
After that, UIS will conclude the season with six of their final seven matches on the road.
