SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The Prairie Stars competed in the Midwest Regional #1 at Harborside International Golf Course in Romeoville, IL. Talon Supak paced the Prairie Stars with another Top-10 finish, finishing the tournament at +10. Illinois Springfield tied with Southern Indiana on the tournament, finishing T-13 in the 25 team field.

Supak finished T-10 in the tournament, firing an opening round of 76 before backing that up with a 78. Trevor Flota finished just outside the top-50 with a 162 total, coming back with a 79 after an opening round score of 83.

Mitch McCafferty posted scored of 84 and 80 to finish T-65 while Erik Thulien and Louis Bagur finished one stroke apart to finish T82 and T90, respectively. Thulien posted scored of 84 and 83 while Bagur carded an 86 to open and finished with an 82.

UIS finished fifth out of the 12 GLVC teams that competed in the tournament, totaling 646 over the two rounds. UIS opened with a 327 before shaving eight strokes for a 319 the final day. UMSL won the tournament with a score of 614, shooting 307 on each day.

Illinois Springfield will come back to Springfield this weekend to host the Dan Salisbury Memorial Invitational at Panther Creek.
