SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The Prairie Stars picked up their tenth win of the season with a 9-0 dismantling of the Mighty Oaks. UIS was barely tested as they moved above .500 on the season, moving to 10-9 with two GLVC matches left to go this week.
Cole Buehnerkemper and
Sam Clarke made easy work in the top doubles group, winning 8-0 before
Grant Fitzsimmons and
Ajay Bandreddy collected an 8-3 win in the second spot. The duo of
Santiago Pedraza and
Sean Courty closed out the doubles portion with an easy 8-1 win.
In singles, Buehnerkemper closed out a 6-3, 6-1 win in the top spot while Clarke and Pedraza each collected 6-0, 6-0 victories.
Christian Timm and Courty each dropped just two sets a piece and Bandreddy closed out the match with a 7-5, 6-2 win.
The Prairie Stars snapped a four game skid with the win and look to gain momentum as they enter the back half of the conference season. The Prairie Stars will face off against Saint Joseph's on Friday before hosting Lewis on Saturday.
