SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The Prairie Stars (5-10, 0-7) fell to McKendree (11-5, 6-1) in a midweek Great Lakes Valley Conference match up. The two travel partners met up for a midweek clash as the Bearcats came out on top in straight sets, 25-21, 25-16, 25-14.

Errors haunted the Prairie Stars all night, committing nine in the first set and ten in the third. McKendree faltered on the attack only 13 times all night, opposite of 39 kills.

Jailyn Borum, playing in just her third match of the season, led the offensive attack with seven kills and two aces while also picking up ten digs, good for second on the team. Kayla Katarzynski led in that category, accumulating ten on the night. Julia O'Malley, a freshman setter from Belvidere, Illinois, had a team high 16 assists on the night.

Illinois Springfield has dropped their last seven matches after beginning the season 5-3 in their two tournaments. The Prairie Stars will continue on a three-game home stand this Friday and Saturday as they take on Saint Joseph's College at 7 PM, before closing the weekend with the University of Indianapolis at 2 PM.

This will be the final tune up before the Midwest Crossover held in Aurora, Illinois as the GLVC takes on the GLIAC in a two-day tournament.
