ROMEOVILLE, IL --- The Prairie Stars (7-16, 0-11) finished off their GLVC road trip with a 3-0 defeat to the hands of Lewis University (17-6, 10-1). Lewis sits atop the GLVC east despite losing their first conference match the night before to McKendree.
Illinois Springfield totaled 31 kills in the match, falling 25-16, 25-15, 25-20. The Flyers attacked at a .351 clip on the day opposed to the Prairie Stars .154 mark.
Ashley Beaton continued her stellar play, recording a team-high seven kills.
Emma Burkle also recorded seven kills on the match on 16 swings while Beaton had just 12.
Lexi Hall and
Tiffany Wentworth each had 13 assists while
Kayla Katarzynski totaled nine digs.
The Prairie Stars will travel to Lindenwood University on Tuesday for their final non-conference match of the season before coming back home for GLVC matches this weekend against UMSL and Maryville on Friday and Saturday. Â
