SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team fell to Southern Indiana 12-3 Sunday afternoon at the UIS Baseball Field.

The Prairie Stars finished the season 22-28 overall and 16-20 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. UIS ended the season in fifth place in the east division standings.

Sunday's game was controlled by the visiting Screaming Eagles from the get-go. Southern Indy scored in the first four innings to take a commanding 11-0 lead. The Prairie Stars got on the board in the sixth inning on a RBI-double from senior Alex Bradley (Peoria, Ill.). In the bottom of the eighth, junior Jake Redlinger (Washington, Iowa) launched his fourth home run of the season to make the score 12-3.

With the win, Southern Indiana clinched second place in the east division standings.

The 2015 season was the second consecutive 20-win season for the Prairie Stars.
