SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Junior
Ashli King's home run in the fourth inning helped the University of Illinois Springfield softball team to a 3-0 win at Drury, while the Panthers got the best of UIS in game two, 5-3, on Friday evening.
Illinois Springfield now stands at 28-17 overall and 13-11 in the GLVC. Drury drops to 17-25 on the season and 8-16

Rachel Goff reached on a throwing error with two outs before King sent a round tripper to right center to score two. UIS added to its lead in the fifth when
Amanda Gosbeth hit a triple to right field and scored on a single from
Brittany Miller.
Pitcher
Taylor Bowlby kept the Panthers off the base paths allowing just two hits and one walk to move to 18-6 on the year to set the single-season win record. She breaks the record set by counterpart
Alexandria Smith last season with 17 victories.
In game two, Drury started the game with a two-run homer and never gave up the lead. The Panthers added another run in the third for a 3-0 lead.
UIS pushed across a run in its side of the fourth, but Drury responded with two runs in the botttom of the frame.
Gosbeth then hit a two-run homer in the fifth, but it was all the Prairie Stars could muster on the offensive front as Jessica Kjeldgaard came in and pitched two innings of hitless ball.
The Prairie Stars now head to Missouri S&T for a twinbill on Saturday beginning at noon.
