SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team did not give up a single point as it downed Calumet College of St. Joseph and No. 15 junior college Prairie State on Saturday at Washington Park.

UIS is now 6-7 on the season as it looks ahead to GLVC play. The Prairie Stars start league action on the road on Friday at Bellarmine.

The pair of Santiago Pedraza and Gerard Carpinell did not give up a single set in the No. 2 doubles to Calumet, while Aksell Dogan and Grant Fitzsimmons also shut out the competition.

Fitzsimmons followed suit in his No. 5 singles matches, giving up just one set to each opponent. Freshman Sean Courty picked up his first singles with with a three-set victory at No. 6 singles against Calumet.

Cole Buehnerkemper went 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles against Prairie State.

UIS' six wins are the most since the 2011-12 season when the team went 8-8.
