SPRINGFIELD, IL - The University of Illinois Springfield men's and women's tennis teams fell to Lindenwood Friday, 3-6 and 3-6 at Washington Park.
The Prairie Stars'
Jane Carter (Auckland, New Zealand) won both of her matches against the Lions. She partnered with freshman
Sharon Danquah (Liberty Twp., Ohio) to win no.one doubles, 8-1. In singles play, Carter and Danquah both won their matches in straight sets.
On the men's side, junior
Cole Buehnerkemper (Effingham, Ill.) teamed up with freshman
Logan Burgess Hayes (Brighton, England) to win the no. one doubles match, 8-5.
Freshman
Sam Clarke (Kendall, England) won a 6-4, 5-7 (10-5) decision at no. three singles and freshman
Christian Timm (Milwaukee, Wis.) was victorious at no. six singles, 6-3, 6-3.
The women's side plays again tomorrow against Oakland City. The match is set to be held at the UIS tennis courts on the UIS campus for the first time in a decade.
