SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team returns to TRAC on Monday to take on the McKendree Bearcats. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.

The Prairie Stars rank in the top of the conference several defensive categories. UIS currenlty ranks fourth in scoring defense (62.4 ppg), third in field goal defense (37.5 percent), fourth in three-point defense (28.3 percent) and sixth in blocked shots per game (3.43).

Jekyl and Hyde
The Prairie Stars are ranked fourth in the GLVC in scoring defense, allowing 62.4 points per game. Offensively, UIS is 12th, averaging 62.1 points.

Home Cooking
UIS is 4-2 at home this season. In six games, the Prairie Stars are averaing 68.7 points, nearly seven points higher than their season average, while allowing only 47.7 points.

The Two Towers
Junior Jessica Warren (6'2") and sophomore Syerra Cunningham (6'1") are the primary primary reason UIS has rebounded the ball so well this season. Cunningham leads the team with four double-doubles. Warren scored a career-high 20 points on Saturday against Lewis and is shooting a team-best 57 percent from the floor this season.

Owning the Glass
UIS ranks third in the GLVC in rebounding (41.0 rpg) and is fifth in rebounding margin (+5.4). The Prairie Stars are 5-3 this season when they outrebound their opponent. Syerra Cunningham (4th) and Jessica Warren (11th) rank in the top 15 of the GLVC in rebounding.

This is the fifth meeting between these two teams since UIS joined Division II. The Prairie Stars won the first two matchups but McKendree evened the series last season with two wins, including a win at TRAC.
