Hayden Esker highlighted an 8-1 loss to Lindenwood as the pair picked up a win in the No. 1 doubles spot on Saturday afternoon at Washington Park.
"Credit to Lindenwood today," said head coach
Tom Rees. " Our guys were right with them for most of the match and can take some heart from that."
Esker and Buehnerkemper grabbed an 8-5 victory in the top doubles position for the Prairie Stars.
Grant Fitzsimmons and
Pradeep Ravisankar took two games from the Lions in the No. 3 position, but could not over come the Lindenwood pair.
In singles play. Buehnerkemper battled with Yoshi Ysa, but did not win the fight as he fell 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1. Ravisankar picked up three games in both of his sets in the No. 4 spot, while
Santiago Pedraza won two in each of his two sets.
UIS now turns its attention to a midweek match with Lindenwood-Belleville on October 1. First serve is set for noon at Washington Park.
