Second STARS Club Caravan Scheduled for Dec. 11

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The University of Illinois Springfield Department of Athletics hosts its second STARS Club Caravan on Thursday, Dec. 11 at Brickhouse West beginning at 6 p.m.

The Caravan will replace the SPI Tour from a year ago. This year the Prairie Stars will focus on each season and have three stops around Springfield. The goal is to bring awareness of UIS Athletics while also encouraging our community to back the Prairie Stars and join the STARS Club - the fundraising arm of UIS Athletics.

Similar to past events, attendees will be able to meet and mingle with our coaches and staff as well as meet other area professionals and alumni. Coaches Bill Walker and Chad Oletzke are scheduled to make a quick speech about the basketball program and what we can expect from the teams this year.

"The STARS Club Caravan will be a great way for our coaches and staff to connect with those who have invested in our student-athletes over the years," said Associate Athletic Director Paul Kabbes. "We also want to engage members of the Springfield community and create excitement for our fan base. These three events are an opportunity to hear from our coaches and the vision they have for UIS Athletics and its teams."

UIs hosted its first Caravan at Lake Pointe Grill, a proud spnosor of UIS Athletics, during homecoming week.
