CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -Â 10 different players scored for the University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team at Southeast Missouri State Sunday afternoon at the Show Me Center. The Redhawks defeated the Prairie Stars in the exhibition, 73-56.
Freshman
Shelbi Patterson (Indianapolis, Ind.) led UIS with 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field. Senior
Courtney Knuckles (Poplar Bluff, Mo.) added 10 points for the visitors.
The Prairie Stars shot 41.5 (22-53) percent from the floor in the game while hitting five of their ten three-point attempts. UIS trailed SEMO 42-32 at halftime, cutting the lead to eight at the 15 minute mark of the second period. The Redhawks slowly increased their lead to as many as 19 towards the end of the game, eventually winning 73-56.
UIS takes a break for the holidays before returning to begin GLVC play on January 2 at UMSL.
