SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team opens its home slate this weekend with games against Southwest Baptist and Robert Morris Springfield. Game times are set for Saturday at 1 p.m. and Monday at 6 p.m., respectively.
UIS picked up its first win of the season on Wednesday against Concordia-Chicago, 71-65. Sophomore
Caroline Kelty (River Forest, Ill.) led the team with 21 points and 10 rebounds, her first double-double of the season.

Shelbi Patterson. In her UIS debut on November 14 against Hillsdale, she was perfect from the field (8-8) on her way to 20 points. It was the most points scored by a UIS player in a season-opener since 2011 (
Alyssa Palmer, 21).
Bounce BackUISÂ bounced back from its recent shooting woes to shoot 45 percent from the field (26-57) in Wednesday's win against Concordia-Chicago. The Prairie Stars shot 53 percent in the first half after shooting just 33 percent from the field (34-102) and 29 percent from three-point land in its first two games this season.
Owning the GlassIn its three games so far, UIS owns a +5 rebounding margin. In Wednesday's win, the Prairie Stars outrebounded the Cougars 50-35.
Southwest Baptist Bearcats (Division II Era):Â SBU Leads 2-0UIS is 0-2 against the Bearcats since joining Division II in the 2009-10 season. Last season, the Prairie Stars fell to SBU, 67-48, early in the season. Then-junior
Cassie Wolfe scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds in the loss.
SBU is 0-2 to start this season after falling to No. 3 Drury, 80-62, on Tuesday. SBU is in the middle of a four-game stretch against GLVC opponents. After traveling to Springfield on Saturday, the Bearcats travel to William Jewell before hosting McKendree on Nov. 29.
Robert Morris Springfield (Division II Era): UIS Leads 4-0UIS is 4-0 against the Eagles since joining Division II in the 2009-10 season with an average margin of victory of 17 points. Last season, the Prairie Stars defeated RMU Springfield, 89-60, setting a TRAC record for most points in a single game. This season the Eagles are 0-5 after falling to Avila University, 74-50, at the Quincy Tournament. RMU's Brandi Bradley and MarQuichea Burns return for the 2014-15 season. The two combined for 21 points and 14 rebounds in last year's game.
