Senior Lauren Hollinshead was named the 2014-15 UIS Female Athlete of the Year. Hollinshead ranks 10th in NCAA Division II and first in the GLVC in total stolen bases with 44. She finished the season in fourth in the GLVC in runs scored (39) and leads the team. Hollinshead started all 54 games and hit .247 - improving her average ny almost 45 points. She posted an on-base percentage of .361 and topped the GLVC in assists with 158. Hollinshead posted 17 RBI and 40 total hits including one home run this season. She was also given the Senior Scholar Athlete Award which is bestowed upon a graduating senior with the highest grade-point average. Hollinshead near a perfect 4.0 overall GPA and will graduate with a degree in biology.
