The University of Illinois Springfield is gearing up for Homecoming 2025, set for Sept. 14-20, with a week of events designed to bring together students, alumni, and the entire campus community. This annual tradition gives Prairie Stars past and present the chance to reconnect and celebrate through campus activities, highlighted by home soccer and volleyball matches.
The week-long celebration will take place on the UIS campus, featuring a vibrant lineup of events and activities. Attendees can look forward to the Prairie Star Block Party on Friday, September 19th, starting at 3:00 p.m. outside the Student Union. This event sets the stage for an exciting evening of soccer at Kiwanis Stadium. The women's soccer team will face Quincy at 5:00 p.m., followed by the men's matchup between UIS and Quincy at 7:30 p.m. Following the soccer matches, guests are invited to a bonfire and fireworks display at TRAC South Field, a fan-favorite Homecoming tradition at UIS.
Saturday, September 20th, kicks off with the 10th annual Prairie Stars 5K outside of TRAC, encouraging participants to engage in a spirited morning run. Later in the day, the UIS volleyball team will take on Maryville at 4:00 p.m. in TRAC Arena. This non-conference match concludes the Prairie Star Classic.
Tickets for the soccer and volleyball games can be purchased through HomeTown Ticketing, and for those unable to attend in person, the games will be available for streaming on the GLVC Sports Network.
