The UIS women's track & field team opened the outdoor season at the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis on Thursday night and Friday. Notably,
Madelyn Miller set a school record in the women's 10,000 meters with a time of 34:29.52, an NCAA provisional mark.

- Madelyn Miller, Kaleigh Inniss, and Jordan Serrahn competed in the 10,000 meters on Thursday evening. Miller led the way with a personal best and school record time, finishing third in both her heat and overall. She now ranks third in the GLVC and the Midwest Region, pending an update to the national performance list. Inniss finished just over the 37-minute mark, while Serrahn crossed the line just under 38 minutes, with both achieving personal bests.
- On Friday, despite warmer temperatures, UIS athletes continued to compete in both the 5,000m and 10,000m events. Allison Thompson made her 10k debut with a time of 42:50.84.
- In the 5,000m, seven other athletes competed, with Josslyn Gaona leading the way in heat four with a second-place finish in 18:31.28. Marissa Roggensack wasn't far behind, finishing ninth in the heat with a time of 18:49.25.Â
- Lillian Buzani placed 14th in heat five, crossing the line in 18:42.58. She is one of seven UIS 5K runners ranked in the GLVC top 20 as of Saturday morning.
