The Illinois Springfield women's basketball team has released its 2025–26 schedule, setting the stage for a season that promises to challenge the team early and often. The season opens with a competitive non-conference stretch before transitioning to a full slate of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) matchups.
The Prairie Stars open the season on Nov. 14 at Hillsdale, followed by a neutral-site game against Tiffin on Nov. 15 and a road contest at Purdue Northwest on Nov. 18. UIS returns home for its season opener at The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) against Ferris State on Nov. 22 at 1:00 p.m., giving fans their first opportunity to see the team in action on its home court.
GLVC play begins on November 29 at Missouri-St. Louis, with the first conference home game against William Jewell on December 1 at 5:30 PM. Before the winter break, the Prairie Stars host five additional key home games:
- November 25: St. Francis (Ill.), 7:00 PM

After the break, UIS returns to action on Jan. 2, 2026, against Indianapolis at TRAC, beginning the second half of the GLVC schedule. The rest of the conference slate including home games against Rockhurst, Southwest Baptist, Lincoln, Missouri-St. Louis, Lewis, and Upper Iowa, as well as nine more road games.
The regular season concludes with road contests at William Jewell and Rockhurst, setting the stage for the GLVC Tournament on March 5, 2026.
The Prairie Stars' 2025 roster combines veteran leadership with a wave of new talent. Three experienced returners —
Tatianna McLaren,
Kayla Rice, and
Allysia McDaniel — anchor the squad with their knowledge of the GLVC and proven on-court production. They're joined by a large group of newcomers, including graduate transfers
Brynn Tabeling and
Kennedy Osterman, who bring college playing experience, and several freshmen ready to make an immediate impact. The mix of seasoned returners and fresh faces gives UIS a balanced and competitive lineup heading into the new season.
