The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball released its 2021-22 basketball schedule this afternoon. The Prairie Stars are scheduled to play 28 regular season games and two NCAA Division I exhibitions. Fourteen of those contests will be at TRAC.

UIS's exhibition slate currently includes road games at Bradley and Northwestern. The Bradley game will be a week before the regular season starts, while the Northwestern contest will be right before the team's Christmas break.

The regular season begins on Nov. 12-13 with a tournament at Lindenwood University. The Prairie Stars will face Kentucky Wesleyan in the opener, and Parkside on day two of the event. The home opener will be Nov. 18 against Eureka, followed by another regional tournament at Indianapolis.

Other non-conference games include December home contests against Hannibal-LaGrange, Purdue Northwest, and Culver-Stockton.

The GLVC campaign begins on Nov. 29 with a home game against McKendree. UIS will play 20 conference games. USI will play every conference team once, as well as facing McKendree, Southern Indiana, Indianapolis, Lewis, Drury, and Missouri-St. Louis twice. All six of those teams UIS faces twice either participated in the GLVC Tournament last year, or earned a NCAA Tournament bid.

The top eight teams in the GLVC at the end of the year according to the Point Rating System will earn a spot in the GLVC Tournament. That event will be held March 3-6 in Edwardsville, Ill.
