Head Cheerleading Coach

Lexi Miech (Kirschbaum) enters in her third year as the cheerleading coach at the University of Illinois Springfield.

Along with her cheerleading duties, Miech served as the department's Events Administrator for two seasons.

A 2011 graduate of UIS, Miech spent four years working in the athletic department as a student assistant and was the program’s Interim Athletic Business manager for a short time in 2010.

Along with her undergraduate duties in intercollegiate athletics, Miech worked as a member of the leadership team in the UIS Recreational Sports Department and also served as a fitness instructor for the department. She was a member of the UIS student government and served as the student representative on the Intercollegiate Advisory Committee as a senior.

A native of Wheaton, Ill., Miech earned her degree from UIS in Communication in May 2011. She married men's soccer coach Jesse Miech in 2013. The couple resides in Rochester, Ill. with daughter Aliyah.
