Herber Named GLVC Offensive Player of the Week

Illinois Springfield women's soccer sophomore Mallory Herber has been named the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Herber earned the honor after recording the first hat trick of her collegiate career in Sunday's 3-3 draw with William Jewell. The three-goal performance marked the fourth, fifth, and sixth goals of her UIS career and kept the Prairie Stars level in their GLVC opener.

Herber's hat trick not only secured a point in the standings for UIS but also marked the program's first three-goal individual performance since Sierra Cenek's hat trick against William Jewell in October 2023. Cenek was also the last UIS player to earn GLVC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

This marks Herber's first career GLVC weekly award and highlights her growing impact for the Prairie Stars.

UIS continues conference play this weekend with Friday's Homecoming game versus Quincy, and Sunday's road game at Truman State.
