The University of Illinois Springfield women's golf team competed at the Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Fla. from Sunday to Tuesday. 

Round one was weather-shortened on Monday before any Prairie Stars finished. The competition picked back up early on Monday, and UIS stood in tenth place with a score of 315 upon the end of the round. 

UIS improved to score 310 in the second round at Baytowne Golf Club. Heather McLean was among the top five competitors after shooting a 72. 

The Prairie Stars finished with a score of 945 after shooting 320 in round three. Heather McLean finished five-over on par fours, ranking top-5 in that category. Elaine Grant was one-over par on par threes throughout the week and Bobbie Uhl was even on par fives.

The Prairie Stars notably finished ahead of GLVC opponents Drury and Truman State. UIS slipped just behind conference opponent and host school Missouri-St. Louis during the second round.

UIS women's golf is back in action next week at the UF Spring Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
