Thank You Frank!

UIS Golf coaching legend Frank Marsaglia announced his retirement last month. The Prairie Stars look back at the career of one of the top coaches in UIS Athletics history.

Frank Marsaglia

Frank was hired as the UIS men's golf coach in the late 2000s, and was tasked with the challenging job of taking a newly-established program to the NCAA Division II level. In 2012-13, he also took over as the head coach of the UIS women's program. Both teams quickly rose up the GLVC standings under Frank, and became one of UIS's most consistently top programs at the NCAA level.

Frank Marsaglia's True Impact

Frank's true impact at the University of Illinois Springfield was not the trophies, postseason appearances, and other successes from the golf program. It was the influence he had on the UIS and Springfield communities, the Prairie Stars Athletic Department, and, most importantly, the approximately 100 golfers that went through his program at UIS. Click the video below to hear from just a few of those that he touched.
