2020 Spring Senior Star Spotlight: Bree Derhake

Bree Derhake

Bree Derhake is a senior infielder for the UIS softball team, and she is from Springfield, Ill. This past season, she was having one of her best seasons. Derhake was ranked eighth in NCAA Division II with 1.33 runs per game and fifth with 1.00 stolen bases per game. She led the team with 24 runs, and was a perfect 18-of-18 in stolen bases. She batted .362 with a .439 on-base percentage. Derhake also recorded 21 hits, six doubles, two triples, and seven RBI.

In her four-year UIS career, Derhake batted .305 with a .358 on-base percentage. In 162 games, she collected 103 runs, 28 doubles, four triples, four homers, 55 RBI, and 46 stolen bases. Derhake ended her career ranked second at UIS in career runs, two behind the program record. She was also in the top-10 in batting average, hits, games played, doubles, total bases, walks, stolen bases, and assists.

Derhake is an Exercise Science major at UIS. She is a three-time member of the GLVC All-Academic team.
