The Velasco Tennis Center at Washington Park, located on the south edge of Springfield's largest recreational park, and is part of the UIS men's and women's tennis programs. The facility contains 12 courts, of which six are lighted for night play, and a newly reconstructed pro shop with porch seating that provides a great sightline into the venue. The Washington Park Tennis Schedule has hosted numerous events, including NAIA Regional and ITA Tennis Tournaments.
In addition to Washington Park, the Illinois Springfield athletic department recently renovated the tennis courts on campus, allowing for on-campus dual matches. With three courts, the Prairie Stars can now practice and compete on campus on newly surfaced courts.
